Red And White Card

Hello Friends!

Its been raining here for the past few days. Sometimes it is quite a heavy rain. Sometimes it is a drizzle. On the whole it is highly overcast and damp for the past one week or so. Because of heavy rains and winds, there are frequent power outages. With high levels of humidity it is really unbearable when there is no power.

Most of our daily schedule is disrupted because of power cuts. So it is irritating sometimes.

Well here is a birthday card with minimum colours. I have used white and red combination as background and a little bit of black in sentiment and embellishment.

Red and White Card

I have folded the Ivory card stock into half and glued the die cuts. I then added the sentiment and butterfly sticker.

Red and White Card

Sometimes I hate to touch the stamping materials. It is so messy. And then the stickers I bought in a sale along with other crafts materials were overflowing my storage bins. So I had to use them.

This card has plain white insert and a plain white envelope.

I think the colours are too bold. But I thought white and red is a good combination. Can red coloured be paired with any other colour? Any suggestions please. I have so much of red card stock with me

Materilas Used:

  • White Ivory Card Stock A4 size
  • Red Card Stock
  • Tattered Lace Decorative Rectangles Dies
  • Glue
  • Happy Birthday Sticker
  • Butterfly Sticker

Warm Wishes

Hi there. Today I am posting another card which is simple and easy to make.

As base I have used A4 size white Ivory stock card folded in half. I used strips of baby pink card and purple colour polka dots printed paper to add some colour. I love polka dots. Do you?

The scalloped ovals were die cut from pink and white coloured card stock to match the design. I stamped the sentiment on the white oval with black ink and added a small 3D sticker.

I have used double sided foam tape to give a little dimension to the oval die cuts.

Simple Book Mark

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing one of my bookmarks made in craft workshop conducted for kids. This is simple and easy to make with minimal craft materials.

The workshop was for children aged 5 years and above. I had tough time controlling them. Most of them were boys and they were not interested in crafts.

One of the child brought his sister (who was just 3years old) along with him and insisted that she be with him. She was constantly crying. I made her sit on my lap and asked her to help me. She did a good job but was sobbing all the while. Slowly she got engrossed in the work and stopped crying.

It was an experience I can never forget. I do love children. But controlling children from different age groups is really difficult especially when most of them are boys.

I supplied the craft materials. So I took along with me lots of material as there lot of kids who joined in the last moment.

I had lot of Craft paper Scraps with me. This one is hand made paper with basket weave texture. The colour was a mixture of pink with orange and glittery. That's why the colour is different in the images.

We took a long piece of paper folded width wise  as shown below.

Then punched a hole either on one side or in the middle  on the top side. Then we glued the folds together.

The children choose from the various stickers-butterflies, cartoon images, flowers among many other things.

Boys chose the stickers of cartoons, super heroes or cars and airplanes. Girls mostly chose flowers, butterflies of cartoon characters.

Here I glued the  Kittie and cup cake sticker as the little ones choice. We the tied the blue glittery string and added a wooden bead.

At the end of the class every one was happy and beaming. They proudly carried their craft work to give to their moms/dads.

The little one proudly displayed her creation in the class and was happy when everyone clapped for her.

As I gave a free hand to older kids they did create some very good pieces. Alas I could not take photos of them as I was trying to pacify and control the younger kids.

It was an enriching experience for me and I learnt a lot from the children.

Stay Safe Stay Healthy.

Materials:

  • Handmade Paper with Basket weave
  • Puncher
  • Glittery String
  • Wooden Bead
  • Glue
  • Self Adhesive Stickers

Thank You Card

Hello Friends!

Hope you are all doing well.

I am posting after a long long time. With Corona and lock downs life has changed a lot. We are still very careful, going out only when absolutely necessary and taking all precutions.

Here is a card I made some time back. A simple Thank you Card. This card was made in one of my classes for demonstration.

The base of the card is plain white ivory card stock. I have used sunny yellow hand made paper with square grid and red card stock for butterflies.

For the insert, I have used two different shades of  paper. The top layer is off-white coloured and underneath yellow coloured paper strips. I have punched out all the four corners of the top insert using butterfly border punch.
