Just For You Card

Hello Friends !

Hope you all had a Happy Varalakshmi Puja. I was busy because of that and now that the festival is over I am tired. But I want to share this card with you today.

Small is beautiful. That's what I thought after I looked at the finished card which I am going to share with you today.

Today I am posting again a small sized card. It is overlapping Gate Fold.

Card Size is 14.5 cms height X 12.8cms(after folding) width and 14.5 cms X 29cms (before folding).

First I stamped the bird image on to a white scrap and colored it. Then cut it using SB Radiant rectangles Dies. Then I cut the other oval die and then stamped the sentiment.

I have coloured the stamped image using colour pencils.

First I cut the borders on the edges and then scored and folded the card.

I was a little bit confused when cutting these borders to get them facing each other. Then I figured it out. Sometimes even simple things don't strike us.

This is how the borders look.

Then I added the die cuts to the card on either side.

Then I punched out a pink paper (square) using border punch and added as insert. 

This is the envelope. I used a different border punch on the envelope. I did not relaise that as I made a bunch of envelopes separately and did not check the design on the insert. I should be careful in future. 

Anyways here it is the card with the envelope.

Thinking Of You Card

It was highly overcast since last three days and sometimes raining heavily and sometimes just light showers. It is cold and damp but better than the hot humid climate we had in past week.

Today I am sharing another simple card.

Think Of You Card

I have used cream coloured glittery card stock as base which is handmade paper. 

Because of the glittery surface and the shiny surface of the tapes, it was difficult to photograph it. I am sorry for the poor quality of images.

I have used printed washi tapes and punched out butterflies. 

Thinking Of You Card

I have added dimension to the sentiment part so that it stands out a bit.

I have added cream coloured insert with stamped butterflies.

A Small Thank You Card

Hello Friends!

Hope you are all doing well.

Its a sunny day today. Actually its very hot like in summer season with lots of humidity. 

Today I am posting a Thank You card which is simple and small in size  -  4.5 x 5.7 inches. Actually I have cut an A4 size White Ivory card length wise into half and the folded it.

This is an 'A'fold card.

Thank You Card

It has a cream coloured insert (matching the Antique Linen colour of the card) with punched border.

I made a matching envelope with punched border. 

I should have used the same design of border on envelope too. I think I missed it out. Sometimes when I am making more than one card, I try to make all the inserts at the same time. Similarly for the envelopes too. That's how I might have missed it.

Simple Card

Hello Friends!  Hope you are all doing well.

Today I am sharing yet another simple card.

I have used blue coloured A4 size card stock folded into half. Then I added the printed paper and the plaid tape. Finally added the stamped sentiment.

Inside the card I have punched all the four corners using border punch.

Red and White Card

Hello Friends! Hope you are all doing great.

Here is my Card for today.

Sorry Card

A sorry card made by using two colours Red and white. The colours of the card are bold. 

The dimensions of the card are 3.75 X 8.75 inches.

I have raised the rectangles with the flower to give focus to the element.

Border on the side of the insert was punched through which you can see the chevron tape glued to the base of the card.

The same red and white chevron tape was glued to the envelope.

Cards Inspired by Meenakari Work-1

Todays card is inspired by Meenakari work. Meenakari work involves inlay work. Inlay means cutting out some space(design) and inserting some contrasting colour pieces to give a decorative look.

I used the same technique here.

This was my first trail. So I did not want anything too complicated to try. This  turned out well. I have used inlay work for my card. I have also made some more cards which I will share with you later on. 

Base is cream coloured card stock A4 size folded into half. I have rounded of the corners.

Then I cut out the flower design by using Memory Box Bloomington Border die from the Yellow-Orange plaid hand made paper.

I used the flower die cuts on another card.

I glued the  Yellow-Orange Paper onto the base of the card. 

I again cut out same flowers from Dark Red handmade paper.  I inserted it into the cut out space and glued it. 

Then Stamped out the sentiment.

This card has plain off white coloured insert and  plain white colourd envelope. I think I should make off white matching envelope for it.

Sorry for the poor images. The white part of the card looks like blue. It was difficult to take good photographs because of weather conditions.

Good Luck Card

Hello Friends! Hope you are all enjoying your week end.

Here is my card for today.

Good Luck Card

The base was Kraft paper thick enough for card making. I have used the negative space of butterfly punched out from the kraft paper. Underneath I added an orange coloured scrap paper. Then added the sentiment printed on a circle punched out from the same colour paper.

I have added plain cream coloured paper as insert. This card has matching kraft paper envelope which I made to match the card.

Overall look of the card is subdued. What do you think? Is it too sombre? Should I have gone for some bright colours? If so which colours would match the brown of kraft paper?

Floral Card

Hello Friends!

Today we have some respite from rain. Though still heavily overcast, we did not have any rain in the  past 24 hours. 

Here is my card. Another Thank You card. My theme was floral. Background is subtle floral print in light blue. I also added a flower branch in white.

My base was A4 size white Ivory sheet folded in half. Entire face of the card is covered by the printed paper. I then added the die cuts; dark blue light blue and the white one with stamped sentiment.

The I added the floral branch and the butterfly in white.

For the insert I used a matching blue coloured paper A4 size with borders punched in the four corners. This card has a plain white envelope.

Blue and White Card

Hello!

Today I am posting a Thank You Card.

I have used only two colours: Blue and White.

Blue and white Card

As a base I have used White Ivory card stock after rounding off the corners with a punch.

Then added the blue card stock and printed paper.  After that I stamped the sentiment on a square white card stock piece glued it to the die cut with dimensional dots and then added the entire thing to the card with dimensional dots.

Inside I have added a blue insert with rounded of corners and white insert with  punched the border (slightly smaller size).

This card has plain white envelope.

I wanted it to be simple and easy to make. That's why I have used only two colours. Hope you like this card.

A Big Thank You Card

Hello Friends!

Still raining continuously. Its all damp and temperatures have fallen quite considerably. Its like in mid winter. 

Weather forecast indicates heavy rans for next two three days. 

That means, we can't step out of houses. 

I was planning to go shopping for some essentials and completing some pending works as Corona cases have gone down considerably. Before the third wave strikes I have to complete certain must do works. But with this rain it is not possible. I hope it clears at least next week.

Well here is a card I made for my niece. I still remember the day. We just returned from the outing all exhausted after a long day. It was 10 pm. I was busy cooking dinner. Just then my niece got a call from school that she has to bring a big thank you card for a guest visiting her school.

This is no  surprise. Kids seem to remember their projects or other school work late in the night, which they have to submit it the next day. So parents have to toil and help them. It always happens like that. None of the reprimands or punishments work. Next time it is same again. Parents do keep stock of stationery and other such things at home to avoid shopping at that time. But still something is always missing. 

My niece asked me to help her make it. At that time of the day on Sunday no shop would be open for purchasing any material. But luckily as a crafter I have stash of lots of things. 

So both of us managed to make this card by digging out some material from my stash. 

Big Thank You Card

The base is a White Ivory Card A3 size folded in half (Portrait) and trimmed it a bit. Then glued Printed paper from JAGs. 

I then added the die cut Fancy Lattice. This die cut was already there in my stash (I had pre cut some dies for testing newly bought ones). I wanted to trim it but my niece just wanted as it was.

Then I added the sentiment stamped die cut using Timeless Rectangle dies. This was also cut and stamped previously. I always keep a bunch of sentiments ready in my stash just in case I need them suddenly.

We added some fancy buttons and floral stickers.

For insert I had to paste two A4 size white sheets one on either side and masked it with blue Plaid Tape. I did not have A3 size papers for insert.

We added some floral stickers on the insert. 

All in all my niece was happy. Next day she and her class mates added messages and presented it to the guest. Everyone liked the card. 

The card was done in a hurry and we were also tired. We could have done better had we had some time to prepare it.

Thank You Card

Hello There! Hope you are doing great!

Here it is still raining on and off. But today we have some sunshine. That's a great blessing. But it will soon rain again. 

I don't mind rains. In fact without monsoons we will not have water for drinking or for our agriculture. It is great for my garden too. But continuous heavy downpour is really difficult to manage.

Well here is another card. Again a thank you card. I have used three colours, white as base and purple and orange combo for the touch of colour. One of the ways to reduce my scrap stash.

I have lots of scraps of various sizes, colours and textures lying around. I have stuffed them into polythene bags. There is a lot of dust here in India and we have to keep everything in covered boxes or bags. 

In India we don't get much storage or organising items for craft materials. Even if we get the cost is too high. So we  are forced to manage with whatever is available.

This card has plain white insert and a plain white envelope.
