Chain Rangolis are fun to draw once you master them. Yes they look a bit complex and difficult to draw in the beginning.

They are the best ones to fill large spaces with intricate patterns in a very short time. One of the advantages in these type of Rangolis is you can select a small design or block and build on the pattern either repeating the same pattern or adding other patterns.

Colouring the pattern after drawing the pattern in these type of rangolis is a bit difficult. It is better to colour the background and then draw over it. One more way is to draw the pattern using coloured powders instead of white powder.

Here is one of my creations:

15 X 15 Straight Dots

In this pattern, I have used three different types of  patterns. Each block is 5X5 straight Dots.

A Simple Thank You Card

Hi Friends!

How are you all doing? Its quite cloudy here today. We may have heavy rains in a day or two due to low pressure.

Today I am sharing a simple Thank You Card. This card was made in one of my classes for demonstration. I usually prefer easy to make simple cards.

The base of the card is a very light pastel coloured card stock. I have used floral printed paper from JAGS

I love this light coloured floral printed paper. But only thing is the size of print is big and can only be used for bigger sized cards. At least that is what I feel.

For the insert, I have used two different shades of green coloured paper. Actually the colour of the top layer of the insert matches the floral printed paper. But here in the photo it looks a different shade.

This card has a plain white envelope.

Hope you like this card. Watch out for more...

Materials Used:
  • A4 size light yellowish green pastel coloured Card Stock
  • White Card Stock scrap
  • A4 size JAGS printed paper pack W&M CPPS15
  • Sizzix Framelits Circles and Labels Stitched Dies
  • Sentiment Stamp
  • Black Ink
  • Light Green Ink
  • Glue, dimensional Dots
  • Light Green papers of two different shades for insert
  • Corner Punch Flower design

Paisley Print Card

Hi Friends!

Hope you are all doing well.

Here we have had some showers and the day temperatures are less but humidity is still unbearable. These showers were a blessing to my garden and all the residents therein.

I am back to my daily schedule with the starting of new academic year.

Today I am sharing with you a simple Thank You card.

I have used paisley printed paper as the back ground. This is from JAGS A4 size pack. I love JAGS packs as they are affordable and when you buy them in a sale you can save a lot.

I have lots of papers of different kinds, some I bought while some were gifted to me by my friends.

I love this paisley print.

This is the inside of the card. You can see the insert with punched border. This card has plain white envelope.

Hope you like this card. I would love to hear from you.

I have lots to share but am not able to take pictures of my work, edit them and then post because of net problems which are being sorted out by my brother.

Have a happy week end. Watch out for more...

Red and White card

Hello Friends!

How are you all doing?

Summer has ended. We have had some pre monsoon showers here. It is a bit cool and my plants are refreshed. I am yet to take stock of how many plants I lost because of the heat despite my care.

Now that Monsoons are almost on our doorstep and schools will open next week, I have lots on my hands. I need to
  • revamp my closet with dresses suitable for rainy season
  • prepare for welcoming my fresh batch of students
  • chalk out menu for the rainy season ahead
  • work on my garden to revive my plants and seasonal work

OK gals, here is my card for this post

I have folded A4 size White Card stock into half such that the upper half is half inch smaller than the bottom one. I have glued the printed tape onto the edge of bottom half.

I have punched the flower design on the Red card stock and glued it. Actually, I had tough time in aligning the punched shapes. Even a slight error in placing the punch ruins the work. You can see I have added flat back self adhesive pearls in the center of the flower design.

The butterflies were die cut from White Card stock and dabbed with red pigment ink and added to the red layer with dimensional dots.

Then I stamped Hello sentiment using black pigment ink.

For insert I have used white paper and punched out tiny butterfly border on the edge. Then lightly dabbed the edge with red pigment ink.

This card has plain white envelope.

Hope you like it. Please do write in your comments and suggestions if any. I would love to hear from you.

Materials Used:
  • A4 size White Card Stock + scraps for butterflies
  • Red Card Stock
  • Flower Pattern Punch
  • Sizzix Thinlits Dies-Winged Beauties
  • Sentiment Stamp
  • Black and Red Pigment Inks
  • Printed Tape
  • Small flat bottomed self adhesive pearls
  • Glue and Dimensional dots
  • A4 size White Paper for insert
  • Butterfly Border Punch Small

Thank You Card

Hi Friends!

Hope you are all doing well and having great time. Well is quite hot here. Summer is almost at its last leg and therefore temperatures are unbearable.

I am also taking a break. But not at all doing much because of the heat and humidity.

Today I am going to share another Thank you card.

I have used punch craft as well as dies for this card.

The base is A4 size cream coloured card stock folded into half. It has glittery surface. Both are hand made. I try to use hand made paper or other things produced locally (Indian made) to support our local artisans. They require our support or else we may loose so many of our arts and crafts and locally made items.

I have glued dark brown card stock with punched borders. Again the top layer is same cream coloured card stock with punched borders.

I have cut out the top two labels using the Spellbinders dies and stamped the sentiment using brown ink and glued both of them using dimensional foam dots to give it some elevation.

This is the inside of the card. I have used the border punch on the four corners. This card has a plain white envelope.

Hope you like this card. Please do drop in your comments and suggestions if any. I would love to read them.

Materials Used:
  • Light Cream coloured glittery hand made card stock
  • Dark Brown hand made card stock
  • Yellow and Light Cream card stocks
  • Thank You sentiment
  • Brown Pigment ink
  • Spellbinders Nestability-Scalloped Labels One dies
  • Border Punch Medium
  • Light Brown and Cream coloured papers for insert
  • Glue and Dimensional foam dots

Warm Wishes Card

Today the card I am sharing is also very simple.

The base is white card stock A4 size. I have layered it with another white piece of card stock, but used dimensional foam to elevate the layer.  I have used pink printed tape and puffy stickers to decorate.

I cut out the label from white card stock scrap and stamped the sentiment with black ink. Then I dabbed the edges with the Fancy Fuchsia Artistry ink. This is one of the colours I like a lot.

This is the inside of the card. The envelope is a simple white envelope.

The yellow colour in the back ground in the above two pictures is a paper sheet I used for background to take the photos as white was drowning out my card. So don't get confused.

I am sorry. I know that my pictures are not clear. I need to do something for that. Actually my craft space is crowded and lighting also is not much. Also I am not a good photographer even with digital camera.

I need to fix it. But I can't wait to share my cards with you.

Materials used:
  • White Card Stock A4 size and for layer and scrap for sentiment
  • Pink printed tape
  • Puffy stickers-butterflies
  • Sizzix Framelits-Fancy Labels
  • Sentiment, butterfly stamps
  • Black, blue and pink pigment inks
  • Fancy Fuchsia Artistry ink
  • White paper for insert
  • Dimensional foam and glue
