Rangoli-358

5X5 Chain Rangolis

The traditional Chain or Mellika muggulu are all time favorites, whether during the festival season or for every day rangolis.

Here are some small Rangolis. Chain Rangolis.

Rangoli-358-Chain Rangoli 5X5

These are 5X5 blocks and can be expanded as per our requirement. These are very easy to draw and can fit small places. Same design can be repeated or one or more designs can be combined for bigger Rangolis.

If you want to colour them. It is better to sprinkle the colour (single or more colours in a square shape) first, then put dots on them and draw the Rangoli. Colouring after the pattern is drawn can be a bit more cumbersome.

Watch out for more.

17 to 1 Straight Dots

NOTE: Most of these designs are my own original creations, which I create by spending much time and after hard work. So please don't post these photos or designs (even if you draw these by your own hand) on your site or blog. Please link back to my blog. I hope you understand this and respect my request. Thank You.

Rangoli-350

Hello Friends!

I am sorry I couldn't post for the past two days. Something wrong with my net connection.

Anyways I will be posting some Rangolis now.

Rangoli-350

21X21--21 dots each row and 21 rows.

This is a square Rangoli. Lotuses, Swastikas and a bit of chain rangoli.

Very easy to draw and colour too. While drawing the block of swastikas, you can first sprinkle a layer of colour and then draw the design over it with white rangoli powder. Where as for lotuses and the central block you can colour after drawing them.

If you look at it closely, it is made up of 7X7 dot blocks. So you can mix and match different blocks or just draw a single block for small spaces. These blocks are also easy for beginners and kids as well.

Please do drop in your comments and suggestions if any. If you like my designs, please like my page in FB and also do share the link with others.

Thank you. Keep an eye on my blog...

Rangoli - 325

Here is one more Rangoli for VaraLakshmi Puja.

This time it Kalash with Swastika. We use Kalash for this Puja. Goddess Lakshmi likes Lotuses or water lilies whatever you call them. I am always confused and can't differentiate between the two.

This is 21 to 1 dot straight dots. I have used red, yellow, saffron colours as it is an auspicious religious occasion. I have used pinks for the lotuses.

I have kept it simple. We can't waste time on Rangoli alone when there is lots to be done. Do you agree with me?

Hope you like it. Please do try it and let me know.

I do have lots of designs but no time to post. Need to prepare everything for tomorrows Puja...

Rangoli-324

Hi guys, I am posting some Rangoli. These are simple and easy Chain Rangoli.

Tomorrow is Varalakshmi Vratam. We worship Goddess Lakshmi-Goddess of wealth. I am posting some small Rangoli, which can be easily drawn in the front yard or inside the house.

You can easily see the dots used. I have posted variations of swastika.

If you are drawing this before your Puja Mandir, you can prepare the base of turmeric powder sprinkled in circular or square shape,  and on it use rice flour for the dots, then draw the designs using red Sindoor(vermilion). This is considered auspicious for religious purposes and Puja.

Swastika is an auspicious symbol used by Hindus and denotes prosperity, luck, security etc.

Hope you like it.....

Rangoli-319

Friends I am so sorry I could not post Rangolis all these days.  There was some problem with my net. It is not resolved completely but for the time being I think I can post.

I created many Rangolis for this Dhanurmaasam. But alas I could not post. Any way here are some I am going to post from today.

You can see from the above Rangoli that I have joined blocks of 4X4 and 5X5 Rangolis. The center is Swastika, which is also a 5X5 block.

You can extend this Rangoli by adding blocks according to your choice.

Hope you like it. Since the festival is from tommorrow wtch out for more Rangolis.

Rangoli-303

Here is a chain Rangoli.

This is 21 dots in the center, then, 19, 17, 15 dots -5 times then 5, 3, 1 -on either side.  Just look at the design and  the dot pattern will be  clear.

Start from the center or start from one of the sides and proceed to the center. This is very simple and easy but looks big enough. If you space out the dots it will be much bigger.

You can use colour powders for drawing instead of the traditional white powder since it is difficult to colour these chain Rangolis.

I drew it in haste, so it is not neat. Sorry for that.

Watch out for more........

Rangoli-299

Ratham Or Chariot Rangoli

Here is a chariot or Ratham Rangloi. You can note the dots from the design above. I have drawn it as Navaratna Ratham-the chariot studded with nine types of gems. In the center, I have drawn a chair for the Lord to sit and a lamp too.

Sorry for posting so late. I was so busy today.

This is drawn on Kanuma(third day of festival) and also on Mukkanuma(fourth day). On Kanuma(3rd day), the chariot is drawn entering into the house. It has come to pick up the Lord who has visited us during the festival. On the 4th day, the chariot is drawn going out of the house. That is the Lord is seated in the chariot and is leaving us and going off to his place. A string (a line) is drawn from the chariot on to the road as far as possible, as if it being pulled away. Usually it is linked with the chariot drawn by the neighbor. This way chariots of one is linked to the other.

Hope you like it. Watch out I may post some more tomorrow.

Kites, Pongali Pots, sugarcane, Gobbilu (pyramid shaped mounds made of cow dung- decorated with pumpkin flowers, placed in the center of Rangolis), red jujube berries(read more in the link below) and colourful rangolis reflect the festive spirit. Hence I have used all those elements in my Rangoli.

Hope you like this Rangoli....watch out for more...

Rangoli-297
