Trendy Ear Rings N Studs-2

Here are some danglers. I think they are made of fiber. They are light weight, reasonably priced and available in various shapes and colours.
The above were in off-white-black combination and light pink and black combination. The one below is green, white and black combination.
I think this will be good for teenagers and also any one who wants to be trendy. Also these are for daily wear or casual wear.

Trendy Ear Rings N Studs

Hi friends!
It is monsoon time here with unusually heavy rains. So when it rains, it is better to stay at home to avoid the slushy and waterlogged roads.

I am better now than a few weeks back. But still not yet recovered fully-at least mentally and emotionally. So it does affect my physical health. It is no wonder I am in such a state as it was a very important decision to make. It needed lots of guts and courage. But I did it finally. I thank all my friends and relatives and my family for helping me to cope up with such a situation. But I am at peace now and extremely happy. At least, I don't have to suffer the dilemma of decision making. Now that I have gone ahead and took some decision, there is no looking back - no matter how much it hurts or disappointing it is.

My right hand is still bothering me. So I am not able to do much. But in order to fight the blues, I went shopping - after all we women love it, it is  therapeutic. Well you will see the results of course though I couldn't shop much.

Have a look at these latest ear studs in the market:
The one above is bottle green colour with golden streaks. The one below is magenta. These are big in size.
I could not see any other colour, but these were available in smaller size and other shapes too.

Watch out for more in next posts....

Rangoli-269

Hi friends!.

Hope you are all doing well. I am slowly recovering from my ill health...much better now. But the crisis in my life is still not yet over. Slowly, I am rebuilding my life again, which is very difficult. May take some more weeks to come out of that. So I am not actively posting on my blog.

I thank all my friends and family who are standing by me, praying for me in these difficult times. Thanks a lot, God Bless You all. With out all your support, it would have been very difficult for me.

However, I will try to post as much as I can. Here is one more Rangoli for you. Very simple and easy to draw.
Keep an eye on blog for more ....

Lakshmi Coin Necklace

Remember the Lakshmi Bangles I posted some time back? Well here I am posting them again to jog your memory.

I have been looking for a matching necklace. I had in mind the old traditional pastern of long chains made of thin gold coins with Lakshmi image on them.

You can see some here:

They are made of gold. At the present cost of gold, I cannot afford it. Anyway, I settled for this one made of one gram gold.
This is a short length chain, just long enough to circle the neck. You can have a closer look of the Lakshmi coins.
Well I would like to get my hands on a long length chain-the traditional one.....

With Kundans.....

I have used butterfly kundans. They can be stuck to the coasters with glue.

I am sorry for such a bad quality of pictures. It is very difficult to take photographs of shiny objects.

Designer Coasters and Cup Covers-2

With Sea Shells.....

Here is one more.
 Coaster
Cover

The small conch shells also have holes for stitching. These are actually used in embroidery.    I will get some without these holes so that I can use for this project. I have shown here two sizes of the conch shells. We can just glue them on to the coasters/covers.

Designer Coasters and Cup Covers-1

With Sea Shells....

While organising my stash of craft and hobby supplies, I unearthed some coasters made of fine soft wood. They are off-white in colour. Actually I wanted paint on them. Till now I could not do the project. I always pick up some plain ones so that I can add my own creative mark on them and gift it to my friends and relatives.

Today early in the morning around 3.30 am, I got up feeling very uneasy and breathless. So to quite my mind, I started taking deep breaths and tried to divert my mind somewhere else. In the process I remembered these coasters and some ideas flashed through my mind. Immediately, I reached for my journal(which, I always keep near by), in which I jot down my ideas first as they strike me and scribbled on it. Later on I tried some of my ideas.

Well here is one of them...I tried with sea shells.
This is for the coaster or cushion for cup/glass.
This is matching cup/glass cover or lid. We can just glue these shells using a good glue. These coaster can be painted first as per the kitchen decor and then the shells can be glued.

Here you can see the holes on the shells. Actually these are meant for embroidery. I just tried them on to see how they look and when actually making one, I will use those with out the holes.

So if you like my idea, have some sea shells with you, or you are lucky one living near sea side, pick some up and try it out.

Organising my Stash-1

Hello there. Hope you are all doing well. I am slowly recovering. It will take some more time but I am feeling better than before. It is really boring to be in bed not able to do anything.

Before I became ill I was organising my stash. I have mounds and mounds of paper cuttings on different subjects-health, beauty, arts and crafts, rangoli and other designs, recipes, gardening, spiritual and many more. I also have lots of cuttings from various news papers or magazines containing some photographs, ads or designs which inspire me to create some new designs or crafts or sewing.

I started with my paper clippings ( from 1986 on wards...). All kept in a number of huge bags. It is quite a herculean task just to organise one bag. But I am through with three bags now. I am segregating them into different topics and filing in different files. But before I could finish off with the material in those three bags, I fell ill and had to stay away from them as the dust in the clippings could increase my allergy.

Now I started organising my craft supplies. First I had to sort the materials from each bag and pool all similar ones at one place. Then I have put them in the boxes.

Here is a glimpse...
Flower shaped and star shaped ones.
Leaf and square shaped discs and triangular shaped beads.
Different coloured, matte and glitter or shiny sequin in different sizes.
I have used a 35 cell box for storing sequins. The problem with this box is if it gets toppled, then everything will be a mess. I could not get a box with small containers or boxes with lid in a big box instead of this partitioned one. Well I am looking out for them.  If I can get hold of something like that, then, I can transfer all these to that container. As of now this will have to do.

Some more of my stash and storage in next posts......

Summertime.....

Hi friends, it is a huge relief to know that all my medical tests went well and nothing to fear there. The reason for such a severe allergy-no body knows. May be it is stress the doc said, as I am going through a very difficult phase in my life and it is quite traumatic. But I have immense faith in God, blessings of my elders, wishes of my friends.

I would like to thank all my friends, who have been sending me wishes and praying for my recovery. Thanks a lot. It is at these times, when I feel happy and grateful to all of you out there.

It will take much more time for my recovery and I still feel very weak with all those medicines and all.

It is summertime here. Very hot during the day. I am really worried about my garden, as water scarcity has hit our water supplies. I still somehow try to water all my plants myself in spite of my illness. I need to move some of them into shade-may be this week end I will get someone to do it for me. But still every summer there are causalities. It is really sad to loose plants.

One more big problem -termites. Can some one please tell me what to do. I lost two full grown mango trees and some plantain trees in the past few years. Now I am battling for the life of Yellow Champaka (Magnolia) known as Simhachala Sampenga in Telugu. I brought it from Simhachalam. One old lady was selling the sapling just outside the entrance of Simhachalam Lord Narasimha Swami's temple. I think of it as Prasad from the Lord. Nothing seems to work with these termites.

Well any way, I leave with these yellow button roses that bloomed in my garden recently. To all my friends and well wishers.....

Rangoli-268

Ugadi Special

Friends Wish you all a very Happy New Year, celebrating as Ugadi by Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, as Gudipadava-by Maharashtra, as Thapna-by Rajasthan, as Cheti-Chand by Sindhis, as Sajibu Nongma Panaba Cheiroba. These are all based on lunar calenders. This is month of Chaitra.

I am sorry due to my ill health and frequent power cuts, I could not post this Rangoli before the festival. Actually I drew it while lying on the bed, and so difficult to do so. But don't have a choice as I can't sit for long.

Since today is the beginning of Spring time (known as Vasanta kaalam), and nine days from today till Sri Rama Navami are celebrated as Chaitra(name of the Month) Navaratris(nine days), worshipping Mother Lalitha or Durga, you can use this Rangoli any time.

This is 21 to 1 straight dots.

I have drawn mangoes, which are raw and small at this time. These are used by us today in a special chutney known as Ugadi Pachchadi. Since this is the onset of spring, there are flowers every where. So I have also used flowers. The hearts (orange and lavender coloured) drawn like an arrow has been used here as Cupid's arrow(Manmadha Bhanam)- after all this is the season for love and love is in the air for all creatures.

Lakshmi Bangles

Well though I am not feeling well, I just can't keep myself posting some lovely pieces of Jewellery, I laid my hands on recently. Well they are a pair of Lakshmi Bangles. These are made of one gram gold and have the circular Lakshmi coins on the bangles. They are studded with 7 stones of white, red and green. They are the latest ones in the market. Just have a look.

Many other designs are available in these bangles. But I loved only these. Aren't they cute? These will keep the shine for a long time, if used carefully, without coming into contact with water and stored properly.

Well so what do you say?
