Simple Book Mark

Hi Friends!

Today I am sharing one of my bookmarks made in craft workshop conducted for kids. This is simple and easy to make with minimal craft materials.

The workshop was for children aged 5 years and above. I had tough time controlling them. Most of them were boys and they were not interested in crafts.

One of the child brought his sister (who was just 3years old) along with him and insisted that she be with him. She was constantly crying. I made her sit on my lap and asked her to help me. She did a good job but was sobbing all the while. Slowly she got engrossed in the work and stopped crying.

It was an experience I can never forget. I do love children. But controlling children from different age groups is really difficult especially when most of them are boys.

I supplied the craft materials. So I took along with me lots of material as there lot of kids who joined in the last moment.

I had lot of Craft paper Scraps with me. This one is hand made paper with basket weave texture. The colour was a mixture of pink with orange and glittery. That's why the colour is different in the images.

We took a long piece of paper folded width wise  as shown below.

Then punched a hole either on one side or in the middle  on the top side. Then we glued the folds together.

The children choose from the various stickers-butterflies, cartoon images, flowers among many other things.

Boys chose the stickers of cartoons, super heroes or cars and airplanes. Girls mostly chose flowers, butterflies of cartoon characters.

Here I glued the  Kittie and cup cake sticker as the little ones choice. We the tied the blue glittery string and added a wooden bead.

At the end of the class every one was happy and beaming. They proudly carried their craft work to give to their moms/dads.

The little one proudly displayed her creation in the class and was happy when everyone clapped for her.

As I gave a free hand to older kids they did create some very good pieces. Alas I could not take photos of them as I was trying to pacify and control the younger kids.

It was an enriching experience for me and I learnt a lot from the children.

Stay Safe Stay Healthy.
