Independence day Special Rangoli Borders

Friends I am posting some borders specially for Independence day. You can use it for republic Day too. I have used only two colours green and saffron as I cannot use white on a light back ground. So you can use white powder also to get Tri-Colour and blue.

You can also find other borders in my blog which you can use for this occasion. Hope these are useful and you like them.

Rangoli-308

WELCOME MR OBAMA

Here is my special Rangoli for the Republic Day and Ratha Sapthami:

This 27 dots 7 times to 7 dots- straight dots.

Here is a closer look.

This is my Original creation. Please don't copy or download this and post on your sites as your own. If you want to share please link here.

Since it is republic Day and our guest for the parade is Mr Barack Obama, President of USA, I have designed this Rangoli with, Indian flag, our national flower- Lotus, our national fruit-Mango, USA's  flag and their national flower-Rose.

So WELCOME MR OBAMA

The toffees near the flags are the orange flavored ones which (I remember in my child hood days) were distributed to children after flag hoisting in our schools.

The rising sun you see is not only the new beginning in Indo-US relationship but also because today is Ratha Sapthami. Flowers are our offerings to Sun God.

The butterflies are keeping in with the festive spirit.

Hope you like this

HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY......

Rangoli-300

Republic Day Special

This is 25 to 1 straight dots. Celebrating 26th January as Republic Day by all of us Indians hence our tri-colour Flag with Lotuses and a little bit of chain Rangoli. Hope you all like it.

My Greetings to all on the occasion of Republic Day on 26th January. Let us Indians remember our heroes whether freedom fighters or great sons or daughters of our land like, Maha Rana Pratap, Prithviraj Chauhan or Jhansi Lakshmi Bai, Rani Rudrama, Veer Shivaji and so many others -known and unknown -their sacrifices and their devotion towards nation and people and their services.

My salute to our Armed Forces and Police with out whose continuous services to the nation we would not be enjoying this freedom and peace.

We also need to put in our efforts in what ever way we can to develop our nation, maintain peace and spread happiness so that the coming generations-our own children can live peacefully and happily.

Rangoli-274

Vara Lakshmi Vratam Special

This is 21 dots-3 rows to 3- straight dots. I have kept it very simple and easy. Hope you like it.

The Kalasam (pot with mango leaves and coconut) is used in the Vratam or ritual. So I drew that. The pots can be coloured using free flowing colours or coloured sand. The rest of the Rangoli can be drawn directly using coloured powders/sand, instead of drawing and filling up it with colours, to save time.

I have used yellow, green, orange red and terracotta colours as this is an auspicious occasion. However, a touch of blue has been given, to break the brightness of the other colours.

I kept it simple because, I don't want to spend much time on the Rangoli tomorrow. There is lots and lots to be done in the kitchen(cooking, sweets, savories and other snacks) and also the Puja. The decoration of the Goddess Lakshmi itself takes so much time. It is ok, if there are other women or girls in the house to help. But doing all this single handedly is tiresome. This requires, lots of energy and time. Though I have created elaborate and big designs, I posted this, as I feel it is difficult to draw these on the D-Day as there will be no time.

Wishing you all a happy Vara Lakshmi Vratam and I pray that all of us and our families are blessed by the Goddess with, Health Wealth, Peace, Prosperity and Happiness.....

Rangoli-273

Independence Day Special

Here is the Rangoli specially for Independence Day. This can also be used for Republic Day
Center is 13 dots-5 rows. Leave four dots on either side and place 5 dots 4 rows. Join as shown and colour. Those who don't have much space like in flats can draw the center part-Flag with Diyas. That is 5X5 block.
 This is 13X13 block.
The Flags on all four sides have been added extra. 5x4 dots-5dots four rows.in the center(leaving four on each side. I have added these flags as I thought the 13X13 block was small.

So friends, pick up the one which suits you and draw it tomorrow.

Wishing You All Happy Independence Day

Watch out for the Sravana Lakshmi Puja Special Rangoli.....

Rangoli-267

Republic Day Special

27 dots 7 rows in the center, straight dots, 25, 23, 21, to 7.

Wishing you all
A very Happy Republic Day on the
occasion of 64th Republic Day......

Update:
Someone asked me how I get ideas for Rangolis. For this Republic day I wanted to create something different, unique and creative and also big.

I started as usual with our national flag. Then I went on to add lotus which is our national flower. Then I got stuck. I had lots of dots before me in a haphazard fashion. I kept on trying different shapes. I struggled like that for nearly 2-3 days. Then I thought I could fit in some peacocks(our national bird). But that too was very difficult. I could some how fit the birds. But I struggled with their tails. Once I was satisfied by the peacocks, there still were some loose dots left in the center. Then I drew some lotus buds carried by the peacocks. Suddenly it was a perfect Rangoli.

My struggles and trails were worth it because this Rangoli gave me immense satisfaction.

Rangoli-89

Republic Day Rangoli

Here is one Rangoli for our  Republic Day  celebrated on 26th January. This one is very simple.
In center I have used a 5X5 block and then extended on all sides as shown in the photo. Place the dots, join them and fill with colours. I have written JaiHind in three languages around the flags.

How do you like it? It is very simple and easy to draw as well as takes less time even for colouring.
